Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday said the NDA coalition viewed its massive victory in the 2024 Assembly elections not as a political triumph but as a mandate to rebuild Andhra Pradesh. Addressing the “Two Years of Trust, Development and Welfare” public meeting at Daminedu in Chandragiri constituency, he said the government had spent the past two years restoring governance, reviving the economy and rebuilding public confidence.
Naidu alleged that the previous YSRCP government had left the state burdened with nearly Rs 10 lakh crore in debt, weakened institutions, stalled projects, declining investments and rising unemployment. He claimed the coalition government had restored law and order, stabilized governance and revived Andhra Pradesh’s credibility among investors.
Highlighting achievements, the Chief Minister said over Rs 65,000 crore had been distributed through NTR Bharosa pensions, while schemes such as Talliki Vandanam, Shakti and Annadata Sukhibhava were benefiting lakhs of families. He said nearly 16,000 teacher posts had been filled through Mega DSC, over 5,700 police constables recruited, and employee dues worth Rs 21,000 crore cleared.
Naidu said the state had attracted investment commitments exceeding Rs 23 lakh crore through transparent governance and investor-friendly policies. He cited projects involving companies such as Google, Cognizant and TCS and reiterated plans to complete irrigation projects, strengthen infrastructure and develop Amaravati as a global innovation hub.
He accused opposition parties of spreading misinformation and urged public representatives to remain accountable to citizens. He also announced efforts to implement 33 per cent reservation for women in legislative bodies.
Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan said the 2024 election verdict was a mandate not just for a change of government but for a new direction for Andhra Pradesh. He said the coalition was formed to share responsibility for rebuilding the state and reaffirmed its commitment to fulfilling election promises.
Pawan highlighted initiatives to strengthen the Panchayati Raj system and credited the NDA government with helping prevent the privatization of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. Referring to the recent steel plant tragedy that claimed nine lives, he expressed condolences and assured support to the affected families.
The meeting was attended by Minister Nara Lokesh, BJP State President P.V.N. Madhav, Union Ministers Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu and Dr. Pemmasani Chandrasekhar, along with ministers, MPs, MLAs and party workers. Beneficiaries of welfare schemes also shared their experiences.
