The YSR Congress Party on Friday organized large-scale protests and rallies across all 175 Assembly constituencies in Andhra Pradesh under its campaign titled “Vennupotuku Rendellu” (Two Years of Betrayal), targeting the Chandrababu Naidu-led NDA government over alleged failure to fulfill election promises.

Thousands of YSRCP leaders, cadre, farmers, women, students, unemployed youth and DSC aspirants participated in rallies, bike processions and demonstrations across the state. Protesters carried placards highlighting issues such as rising fuel prices, increasing cost of living, unemployment, alleged irregularities in the DSC recruitment process and the non-implementation of key welfare promises. Black balloons were released at several locations, while copies of the TDP manifesto and effigies were burnt as a mark of protest.

The opposition party alleged that the coalition government had failed to deliver on major promises made during the 2024 election campaign, including the implementation of the “Super Six” welfare schemes. YSRCP leaders claimed that women, farmers, youth and other sections of society were disappointed with the government’s performance over the past two years.

Major demonstrations were held in Vijayawada, Tirupati, Nellore, Kurnool, Kadapa, Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry, Kakinada, Chittoor, Anantapur, Pulivendula and several other constituencies. Senior party leaders including Bhuman Karunakar Reddy, Roja, Kodali Nani, Botsa Satyanarayana, Dharmana Krishna Das, Kakani Govardhan Reddy, Perni Kittu and others led the protests in their respective regions.

YSRCP leaders also accused police of imposing restrictions and preventing party workers from participating in some rallies. In several places, including Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry, Tadipatri and Bobbili, tensions were reported after police intervention.
