The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted surprise inspections across 13 Mee Seva centres in Telangana, uncovering multiple irregularities ranging from forged documents to overcharging of applicants. The checks were carried out in centres located in Hyderabad, Khammam, Mancherial, Mahabubnagar, Sangareddy, Nizamabad, Warangal and Suryapet.

During the inspections, officials found serious violations at several locations. At a government Mee Seva centre in Alwal, blank attested certificates, including caste, income and residence documents, along with notary-stamped papers, were seized from a nearby Xerox shop. Fraudulent documents prepared using such materials were also detected, leading to the registration of a criminal case by Alwal police under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

The ACB also identified suspicious financial transactions and WhatsApp communications between Mee Seva operators and middlemen, indicating organised malpractice. Many centres were found collecting excess charges from applicants, while in Khammam, unauthorised persons were signing certificates instead of designated officials.

In Saroornagar, officials discovered blank signed notary papers and multiple login IDs, while in Tarnaka, illegal collections were made in the name of notary services. Failure to maintain mandatory records and possession of undelivered certificates were also reported in Sangareddy and Suryapet centres.

The public has been urged to report corruption through the toll-free number 1064.
