On Friday, to mark World Heritage Day, South Central Railway opened its museum for school children, rail users and the common man
Kacheguda railway station is not just majestic, standing tall in white but also houses a ‘rail Museum’ that takes one back down memory lane and provides a peek into rail history. On Friday, to mark World Heritage Day, South Central Railway opened its museum for school children, rail users and the common man.
The Rail Museum exhibits the old models of earlier working railway equipment, models; working system of levers, signal systems etc. Fans used from 1960 to till date decade wise displayed at the exhibition created more interest amongst the visitors.
Photo displayed of Kacheguda station inauguration in the year 1916 by Nizams created eye catching attention to the Heritage lovers. Kacheguda Railway Station building was built in the year 1916 and is awarded with the Platinum award by Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) certifications.
The Rail Museum offers a glimpse of vintage photographs & Exhibits including those pertaining to the Rail Network dating back to the Nizam’s time. Logos of different Railways from the Pre-Independent Era showcasing in the Museum. Exhibits include Signaling Equipment, Prototypes of various Locomotives and Coaches, Tickets, working models etc. An exclusive seating area is made available to facilitate screening of audio-visuals pertaining to the history and growth of Railways and other short films on various aspects connected to railways.
