Zaheerabad MP Suresh Shetkar stresses importance of booth level agents

Zaheerabad MP Suresh Shetkar has described Booth Level Agents (BLAs) as the strong foundation of the Congress party, comparing them to the “eyes and ears” of the organization. Addressing a training camp organized for Congress Booth Level Agents of Kamareddy Assembly constituency on Sunday as the chief guest, Shetkar emphasized the critical role of BLAs in strengthening the party at the grassroots level.“Booth Level Agents have the authority to make corrections in the voter list and enrol new voters — an authority that even the Chief Minister does not possess,” Shetkar said.

He stressed that the priority for every BLA should be their respective booths and booth pairs, which serve as the party’s vital information network. The MP termed BLAs as extremely important for the overall strengthening of the Congress party. Congress spokesperson and BLA Master Trainer Meneni Rohit Rao conducted the training session, briefing participants on the duties and responsibilities of BLAs, Election Commission guidelines, the voter list revision process, and the use of Form DE-10 and other procedures.

State government advisor Shabbir Ali, who also spoke at the event, urged every Booth Level Agent to maintain continuous contact with all families within their booth jurisdiction. He called upon them to actively identify new voters, ensure their enrolment, and take all necessary steps so that the name of every eligible citizen appears in the voter list. The training program focused on equipping booth-level workers with the skills and knowledge required to effectively manage electoral rolls and strengthen the party’s ground-level machinery ahead of future elections.
