  7. Jadcherla MLA Anirudh Reddy clarifies

Jadcherla MLA Janampalli Anirudh Reddy* stated that the compensation under the R&R package for the displaced families of the *Udandapur Project* has been increased as promised. Speaking at a press conference held at the MLA camp office in Jadcherla on Tuesday, Anirudh Reddy said that during the previous *BRS government, a distinction was made between single families and joint families. At that time, compensation of Rs. 6.5 lakh was fixed for single families and Rs. 16 lakh for joint families. He pointed out that such discrimination was not shown in the case of Mallanna Sagar displaced families.

However, the present government has now decided to give Rs. 18 lakh compensation equally to all displaced families, without differentiating between single and joint families. With this decision, displaced families will receive an additional Rs. 2 lakh to Rs. 12 lakh as compensation.

He also stated that families in Vallur and Vallur Thanda, who had already received compensation earlier, would also be given the additional enhanced compensation. Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy has assured that the government will distribute a total of ₹374 crore, including an additional Rs. 146 crore, to the displaced families within two months.

The government has clarified that GO No.1, issued for the increased compensation, applies only to the Udandapur displaced families. With the issue of the enhanced R&R package resolved, Anirudh Reddy urged everyone to cooperate for the smooth continuation of the Udandapur project works.

He warned that if anyone indulges in petty politics and tries to obstruct the project work, strict legal action will be taken against them. He added that if the work is obstructed, the reservoir construction cannot be completed within the stipulated deadline.

Anirudh Reddy further said that he had requested Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy to ensure that the plots allotted to the displaced families are *registered and handed over to them, and the minister responded positively. He assured that, similar to the arrangement made for Mallanna Sagar displaced families, the government will register the plots free of cost and provide them to the Udandapur displaced families.
