VILAS 2027 inaugurated at JNTUH to promote physical fitness

Metro India News | Hyderabad : VILAS 2027, the annual memorial sports event organized by the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH), University College of Engineering Science and Technology Hyderabad (UCESTH), was inaugurated on Monday, October 12. VILAS is an initiative started in 2016 by students of the EEE Department with the objective of creating awareness about physical fitness, good health and the importance of sports among students across the university.

The event was initiated in memory of their senior Vilas, who passed away due to bone cancer. Through this initiative, the students sought to convey the importance of maintaining physical well-being alongside academic achievements. Over the years, VILAS has developed into a sporting event that provides students with opportunities to participate in various indoor and outdoor games, showcase their sporting talents and develop teamwork, discipline and sportsmanship.

The inauguration program commenced with an awareness rally highlighting the importance of physical fitness, health awareness and participation in sports. Through the rally, the organizers sought to encourage students to make physical activity an integral part of their daily routines and understand the importance of balancing academic commitments with personal well-being.
