Vijayawada handloom exhibition concludes with Rs. 50 lakh sales

The handloom exhibition in Vijayawada is set to conclude today, having received an overwhelming response from the public. According to State Handloom and Textile Commissioner Rekha Rani, the event has so far recorded sales worth Rs. 50 lakh, showcasing the growing interest in traditional handloom fabrics.

Speaking about the success of the event, Commissioner Rekha Rani expressed gratitude to the people of Vijayawada for their enthusiastic participation. She urged citizens to take advantage of the final day of the exhibition on Sunday. The exhibition, held at Shesha Sai Kalyana Mandapam, features a diverse collection of handloom textiles from various parts of Andhra Pradesh and other states. Some of the prominent collections include, Pendur, Uppada, Angara, Pulagarthi, Bandar, Mangalagiri sarees, and dress materials, Chirala sarees, Venkatagiri, Dharmavaram, Madanapalli, Emiganur, Gadwal, Kanchipuram, and Pochampalli sarees across 89 handloom stalls, showcasing a rich variety of fabrics and weaves.
