Telangana Minister for Irrigation and Civil Supplies and former Indian Air Force fighter pilot Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Tuesday invited global aerospace and defence companies to establish manufacturing facilities in Telangana, asserting that the State is emerging as India's premier aerospace hub. Addressing the inaugural session of Aeromart Hyderabad 2026, he also announced that the State Government would soon begin work on new airfields at Warangal and Adilabad, while approval for the proposed Kothagudem airport is expected shortly.

Speaking before delegates from more than 25 countries, global aerospace companies, defence firms, OEMs and industry leaders, Uttam Kumar Reddy said Telangana has built a globally competitive aerospace ecosystem through industry friendly policies, world class infrastructure, skilled manpower and efficient governance. He described Hyderabad as a fast growing global centre for aerospace manufacturing and innovation.

Recalling his experience as an Indian Air Force fighter pilot who flew MiG 21, MiG 23 and Mirage 2000 aircraft, the Minister said aerospace demands absolute precision and reliability. His military background, he said, enables him to appreciate Telangana's achievements from the perspective of both an aviator and a policymaker.

Highlighting the State's growing international presence, Uttam Kumar Reddy said Telangana manufactures cabins for the United States Presidential helicopter, Apache helicopter fuselages, F 16 fighter aircraft wings and advanced aero engine components for leading global companies. He noted that recent investments by Spain's ITP Aero and Canada's FTG Aerospace reflect rising international confidence in Telangana.

The Minister said the State has developed a strong ecosystem with dedicated aerospace parks, Special Economic Zones, over 1,500 specialised MSMEs, research institutions and defence establishments. He added that initiatives such as Young India Skills University and Advanced Technology Centres are creating a highly skilled workforce for future industries.

Stating that Telangana's aerospace and defence sector has recorded nearly 30 per cent annual growth, with exports rising by 103 per cent last year and surpassing pharmaceutical exports, Uttam Kumar Reddy urged global companies to partner with Telangana. He assured investors of complete government support and expressed confidence that Aeromart Hyderabad 2026 would create lasting global partnerships and further strengthen Telangana's position in the international aerospace supply chain.
