US rejects visa fraud claim against PIO woman techie

Houston: A US official has rejected social media allegations of visa fraud against Indian-origin biomedical en­gineer and Kuchipudi dancer Sadhana Gollapudi, saying she is a naturalised US citizen.

An X user had alleged Gollapudi was a long-term F1 student and violated visa rules by working as a dancer and tutor. US Attorney Aaron Reitz responded on Aug 4, saying his office had examined the matter. “She’s a naturalized US citizen, not here on student visa,” he said.

Gollapudi later accused the X account of spreading “false and misleading claims” about her and urged users to report such posts for misinformation and unauthorised use.
