Urology Association calls for awareness about sepsis

Metro India News | Hyderabad : The Association of Southern Urologists, Hyderabad Urology Society and Telangana Urology Society have expressed their heartfelt condolences to the family of a patient who recently passed away following a severe infection.  In a joint awareness statement, the three associations emphasised that sepsis is a serious medical emergency that can affect individuals of any age, including those who are otherwise healthy.  Urosepsis is a particularly important concern in urological practice.

Dr. Jagadishwar, President of the Association of Southern Urologists mentioned that Sepsis is a serious health concern that deserves greater public attention and that Kidney stone infections and urinary tract infections can sometimes lead to severe complications.  Dr. P.V.L.N. Murthy, President of Hyderabad Urology Society cautioned that one should never ignore warning signs such as fever, chills, breathing difficulty, confusion or reduced urine output.

Recognising these symptoms early and seeking immediate medical attention can make a significant difference, he said Dr. Chandrashekar, Secretary of Telangana Urology Society, urged patients and families to understand the possible complications, follow medical advice and seek immediate care whenever warning signs appear.
