Marking a major step in strengthening grassroots development, G. Kishan Reddy, Union Minister of Coal and Mines, inaugurated 36 Nand Ghars in Hyderabad, formally launching the initiative in the district.

Nand Ghar, the flagship social impact programme of Vedanta Limited, aims to transform the anganwadi ecosystem by establishing modern, technology-enabled centres. These centres provide integrated services such as nutrition, early childhood education, primary healthcare, and women empowerment.

With this launch, the initiative strengthens its presence in southern India, expanding across Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and now Telangana. The move reinforces Vedanta’s commitment to scalable and impactful community development while enhancing the anganwadi infrastructure in the state.

During his visit to an anganwadi centre in Bhagavanthapuram, Sanathnagar, the minister reviewed services related to child care, nutrition, and maternal health. He interacted with children and staff, distributed stationery kits, and emphasized the importance of strengthening grassroots systems for holistic child development.

The newly inaugurated centres are expected to benefit nearly 3,000 women and children by providing improved access to nutrition, education, healthcare, and livelihood opportunities. The minister also distributed school essentials and nutritious supplements, underlining the initiative’s focus on ensuring better health outcomes.

Shashi Arora, CEO of Nand Ghar, expressed gratitude for the minister’s presence, stating that the initiative is guided by a vision to create sustainable development models that empower women and ensure every child gets a strong start in life.

Currently, spanning over 12,700 centres nationwide, Nand Ghar continues to expand with the long-term goal of reaching 14 lakh anganwadis across India. The initiative aims to impact 8 crore children and 2 crore women, reflecting a collaborative effort between government support, community participation, and institutional commitment to drive meaningful social change.
