450+ delegates from 100+ countries gather in Hyderabad for a two-day summit themed “Delivering Global Justice.”
The two-day Bharat Summit 2025, an international conference hosted by the Government of Telangana in collaboration with the Samruddha Bharat Foundation, is set to kick off today (Thursday) at the HICC Novotel, Hyderabad. The summit, themed “Delivering Global Justice,” brings together over 450 delegates from more than 100 countries, including global political leaders, lawmakers, policy experts, and civil society champions, marking a major milestone in Telangana’s global engagement and development vision.
The event comes at a time when the nation is united in mourning the tragic killing of tourists in Pahalgam, Kashmir. In solidarity, the Bharat Summit will include a solemn candlelight procession on Day 1 evening, attended by national and international delegates, to condemn terrorism and uphold the values of peace and justice.
This year's summit commemorates the 70th anniversary of the Bandung Conference—the historic foundation of the Non-Aligned Movement.
The Telangana government is leveraging this platform to highlight its development model, social equity initiatives, and economic progress, under the vision of “Telangana Rising.”
The summit will serve as a forum to foster dialogue on global equity, democratic values, inclusive growth, and sustainable development. More than 100 progressive political parties, 50 global lawmakers, 40–50 ministers, and over 100 sectoral experts will participate in closed-door sessions, thematic panels, and plenary discussions. Notable Indian leaders attending include AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, MP Priyanka Gandhi, along with Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, and key Congress legislators and MPs from Telangana. International dignitaries include Jorge Taiana (Argentina), Clara López Obregón (Colombia), Ann Linde (Sweden), Emilio Lozada (Cuba), and M. Kula Segaran (Malaysia).
The Day 1 agenda features field visits in the morning to showcase MNREGS works, followed by a series of panel discussions and a Plenary Session where the Hyderabad Declaration will be unveiled. Keynote addresses will be delivered by Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge. Day 2 will culminate in a Valedictory Session, with speeches from Priyanka Gandhi and K.C. Venugopal, and an evening field visit to Indira Mahila Shakti Bazaar at Shilparamam to highlight the empowerment of women’s self-help groups.
Showcasing Telangana’s Vision
Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka emphasized that the summit offers a unique opportunity to showcase Telangana’s welfare and development model to the world. "Through field visits and immersive sessions, delegates will witness the tangible outcomes of progressive governance," he said. He also expressed gratitude to External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar for extending support to make the summit a globally significant platform. Bhatti said that Rahul Gandhi will be coming down to Hyderabad after a likely visit of Kashmir by all party leaders on Thursday. His schedule will be known on Thursday, Bhatti said.
With an ambitious agenda rooted in justice, multilateralism, and cooperation, Bharat Summit 2025 aims to become an annual global event to shape discourse on equitable growth and international solidarity, while firmly establishing Telangana as a hub for transformative policy dialogue.
