Hyderabad police seized 367 grams of narcotic “hash oil” and arrested a drug peddler and a consumer during a raid near Risalagadda, Bakaram, Musheerabad on March 7. The operation was conducted by the Commissioner’s Task Force, Khairtabad Zone, along with Musheerabad police.

The peddler, Dovari Jyothi Ratna Pradeep, 34, a resident of Yapral, Hyderabad and originally from Guntur, was caught while waiting to deliver Hash Oil to consumer Kota Vijay Kumar, 46, of Golkonda X Roads, Musheerabad. During the raid, police also seized one two-wheeler and three mobile phones.

Enquiry revealed that Pradeep and his associate Shaik Mahaboob Basha, from Guntur, procured Hash Oil in bulk from Tirupati at Rs. 50,000 per litre. They repackaged it into 5-gram containers, selling each for Rs. 2,000–2,500. Consumer contacts were maintained by Basha, who coordinated deliveries via conference calls.

Pradeep, who moved to Hyderabad a few years ago, became involved in narcotics due to financial difficulties. He was previously arrested in a Hash Oil case in Guntur in 2022. Kota Vijay Kumar was also arrested in 2022 under the NDPS Act.

Both the peddler and consumer, along with the seized materials, were handed over to Musheerabad police for further legal action. The raid was led by Inspector P. Raghavender, Sub-Inspector P. Gnanadeep, and their team from Khairtabad Zone Task Force and Musheerabad PS.
