Pahadishareef Police organized a Cyber Crime Awareness Programme to educate citizens about the rising incidents of cyber frauds and the importance of safe online practices. The event saw participation from a large number of students, local residents, and community members.

The programme was addressed by DCP Shamshabad and ACP RGI Division, who highlighted various types of cyber crimes, including online financial frauds, phishing attacks, fake links, OTP scams, social media hacking, and identity theft. DCP Shamshabad emphasized the importance of vigilance while using digital platforms, advising the public not to share OTPs, bank details, or passwords with unknown persons and to avoid clicking on suspicious links or responding to fraudulent calls.

The DCP also introduced initiatives like Cyber Mitra and Cyber Simha, which aim to promote cyber awareness and encourage responsible online behaviour. Volunteers and citizens are urged to assist in spreading cyber safety awareness in their communities.

Participants were informed about the Cyber Crime Helpline (1930) and the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (www.cybercrime.gov.in) for immediate reporting of online crimes. SIs from Pahadishareef Police Station were also present to support the awareness drive.

The event concluded with a call for the public to stay alert, follow cyber safety guidelines, and help educate family members and society to prevent cyber crimes.
