TTD makes Radha Sapthami arrangements

The Tirumala Tirupati Devashtanam Governing Council met on Friday under the chairmanship of its Chairman BR Naidu. The council held a meeting to discuss about the arrangements to be done on the occasion of Ratha Saptami.

The TTD chairman gave several instructions to the officials on the facilities to be provided to the devotees. Speaking to the media after the meeting, the Chairman said that on the occasion of Radha Sapthami, Lord Venkateshwara will be taken out in a procession on the streets of Tirumala on seven vehicles.

The sunrise is estimated  at 6:44 am on Ratha Saptami. At these hours, it is said that the idol is touched by the sun's rays. It is expected  that two lakh people will come on the occasion of Ratha Saptami. All sevas and privilege darshans on Ratha Saptami have been cancelled.

The time slot tickets have been cancelled from February 3 to February 5. “Devotees with special entrance darshan will be given darshan within the stipulated time.We are making elaborate arrangements with 1,250 police personnel and 1,000 vigilance personnel on the occasion of Ratha Saptami.” The TTD chairman said.

He further mentioned “Special measures are being taken to avoid problems related to parking, fire and traffic. Special arrangements are being made in the galleries. Swimmers have been deployed in Pushkarini during chakrasnana. Food and drink will be distributed continuously to the devotees waiting in the galleries.

Special pandals for cooling have been set up in the temple's vicinity. 8 lakh laddus will be made available for the convenience of the devotees. TTD governing council Tirumala will be beautified with electricity and floral decorations.” The chairman said.

Compensation Disbursed

TTD Chairman  BR Naidu along with some board members have given compensation to the injured devotee in the Tirupati stampede incident.They distributed a DD for Rs. 2lakh to G. Shailaja of Sarvarajupeta Colony, Veerappanayanapalli Mandal, Kadapa District. Chairman BR Naidu, members  Jyotula Nehru,  Santaram presented the DD to the victim at the Chairman camp office in Tirumala on Friday.
