The Telangana government has stepped up the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, directing officials to fast-track the mapping of voter records from the 2002 rolls with the updated 2025 voter list. The review was held through a video conference from the Secretariat under State Chief Electoral Officer Sudarshan Reddy on Monday, who assessed district-wise progress with collectors and election officers.

He instructed that the mapping exercise must reach at least 90 percent completion within the stipulated timeline. Officials were told to redeploy BLOs who have achieved 100 percent progress to support areas where work is lagging. He also emphasized identifying polling stations with zero or minimal progress and providing strong handholding support to ensure faster execution.

Special focus was placed on urban pockets, where evening and weekend field visits were suggested to improve verification efficiency. The CEO stressed strict verification of deceased and permanently shifted voters, with proper notice procedures before removal from the rolls. Door-to-door verification by BLOs and detailed field inspections at polling stations were highlighted as key steps to ensure accuracy and transparency. Additional staff and computer resources were advised, along with involvement of political party representatives wherever required. Medchal-Malkajgiri District Collector Manu Choudary reported a 5.2 percent improvement since the last review. He said low-performing teams are being personally guided.
