The Telangana government on Friday carried out a major reshuffle of senior IAS officers, appointing N. Sridhar as Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and transferring B. Ajith Reddy from CMO to Invest Telangana as its Chief Executive Officer. The administrative overhaul, announced through G.O.Rt. No. 914 issued by the General Administration Department, is aimed at strengthening governance, improving administrative efficiency and accelerating implementation of key government programmes across critical sectors.
N. Sridhar, a 1997 batch IAS officer who was serving as Principal Secretary, Mines and Geology, Industries and Commerce Department, has been posted as Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister. His appointment places an experienced administrator at the helm of the Chief Minister's Office. B. Ajith Reddy, who was serving as Special Secretary to the Chief Minister, has been transferred as Chief Executive Officer of Invest Telangana, the state's investment promotion agency, with the government expecting the move to further strengthen industrial growth and investment facilitation.
As part of the reshuffle, Sabyasachi Ghosh has been entrusted with Full Additional Charge of the Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts Department, besides continuing his existing responsibilities related to flagship welfare and developmental schemes, Corporate Social Responsibility, Tribal Welfare and other welfare departments. Shailaja Ramaiyer has been posted as Principal Secretary, Environment, Forests, Science and Technology Department, while continuing to hold additional charge of the Endowments Department and taking over Full Additional Charge as Director General of EPTRI.
Ahmad Nadeem has been appointed Principal Secretary, Political Department in the General Administration Department and has also been assigned Full Additional Charge of the Minorities Welfare Department. Rahul Bojja, who has returned from leave, has been posted as Principal Secretary, Disaster Management in the Revenue Department while continuing to hold additional charge of the Backward Classes Welfare Department. M. Raghunandan Rao has been assigned Full Additional Charge as Secretary, Mines and Geology.
The government has also made several appointments in key administrative positions. P. Katyayani Devi has been posted as Special Secretary, Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts while retaining additional charge as Joint Managing Director of the State Finance Corporation. K. Gangadhar has been posted as Special Secretary in the Roads and Buildings Department. T. Venkanna has been appointed Municipal Commissioner of the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation, while K. Vidyasagar has been posted as Director of Tourism with additional charge as State Nodal Officer for Prajavani. K. Chandrakala has been assigned Full Additional Charge as Joint Metropolitan Commissioner for Core Urban Region, Land Pooling and Metro Rail in HMDA, while Md. Musharraf Ali Faruqui has been given additional charge as Vice Chairman and Managing Director of TGREDCO.
