39 Telangana’s Companies in Burgundy Private Hurun India 500

Burgundy Private, Axis Bank’s Private Banking Business, and Hurun India, today released the 2025 Burgundy Private Hurun India 500, with the 500 companies in the list collectively valued at $3.4 trillion, reflecting a corporate landscape where scale is matched by broader entrepreneurial participation, stronger fundamentals, and a widening footprint beyond traditional growth centres.

Telangana is firmly part of this shift, with Hyderabad-based companies adding close to INR 283 crore in value every day over the past five years, reinforcing the city’s emergence as one of India’s most influential corporate centres. Now in its fifth edition, the 2025 Burgundy Private Hurun India 500 ranks India‑headquartered companies by market capitalisation or enterprise value, excluding state‑owned enterprises and subsidiary entities. 

With an average age of 44 years, the cohort reflects a compelling blend of maturity and momentum within India’s corporate ecosystem. Collectively, these companies are strengthening the country’s economic fabric, employing 8.9 million people, contributing INR 3.23 lakh crore in taxes, and investing INR 13,433 crore in CSR initiatives.

The 2025 Burgundy Private Hurun India 500 report reflects a phase of steady evolution in India’s corporate landscape, where companies are building scale even as they adapt, invest through cycles, and find new ways to stay relevant. 

Commenting on the launch, Anas Rahman Junaid, Founder and Chief Researcher, Hurun India said: "The companies from the 2025 Burgundy Private Hurun India 500 make up the 'backbone' of India's private sector, wielding significant economic influence.

“Telangana continues to reinforce its position as India's healthcare capital in the 2025 Burgundy Private Hurun India 500, with 39 companies on the list, an increase of nine companies since the inception of the list in 2021, and Healthcare alone accounting for 16 of them. The cumulative value of these companies stands at INR 12.1 lakh crore, up 75% (INR 5.2 lakh crore) from 2021, while total sales have grown 47% to INR 2.6 lakh crore. All 39 companies are headquartered in Hyderabad, underscoring the city's prominence as a key business hub.
