Andhra Pradesh Minister for Industries, Commerce, and Food Processing, T.G. Bharat, has urged the Union Minister for Civil Aviation, Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, to introduce flight services between Kurnool and Vijayawada. The state minister met the Union Minister in New Delhi and discussed the need for improved air connectivity between the two cities.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, Minister Bharat stated that the Union Minister assured him that consultations with the concerned authorities are already underway and that steps will soon be taken to address the request. He expressed confidence that the proposal would materialize in the near future, enhancing regional connectivity.

Minister Bharat highlighted the strategic importance of launching flight services between Kurnool and Vijayawada, particularly for industrial development. He noted that the Orvakal Industrial Hub in Kurnool is being actively promoted by the state government as a major investment destination. “The region has favorable conditions for setting up industries, and if flight services are introduced, it will further facilitate the movement of industrialists and investors,” he said.

He also appreciated the Union Minister’s commitment to strengthening aviation infrastructure in Andhra Pradesh and emphasized that improved air connectivity would play a crucial role in boosting economic activity in the state.

The demand for flight services between Kurnool and Vijayawada has been growing, as it would significantly reduce travel time and enhance accessibility for business and tourists. The move is expected to provide a major boost to trade and industrial investments in the region.
