Sridhar Babu launches major civic works in Uppal

Telangana IT, Industries and Commerce Minister Sridhar Babu on Thursday laid the foundation stone for development works worth Rs 76.46 crore across the Uppal Assembly constituency, focusing on roads, stormwater drains, sports infrastructure, footpaths and civic amenities.

The projects were launched in the presence of Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation Commissioner T. Vinay Krishna Reddy, Medchal–Malkajgiri District Collector M. Manu Chowdary, Uppal Zonal Commissioner Radhika Gupta and other officials. At Ramanthapur, works worth Rs 90 lakh were launched for the expansion of the Bajrang Vyayamshala, including construction of a ground floor extension, installation of modern gym equipment and a borewell to improve sports facilities for youth.

The largest package, valued at Rs 56.355 crore, covers the Ramanthapur Bhagayat–Uppal area. It includes construction of major stormwater drains, development of footpaths, a multi-sports arena, new CC roads, road repairs in several colonies, improvement of the VT Kaman bus stop and other civic infrastructure. Development works worth Rs 3.23 crore were also launched in Bodrai, Chilakanagar and Beerappagadda. These include repair of damaged CC roads, reconstruction of stormwater drains, construction of a retaining wall and steel girder bridge, development of crematoriums and road improvement works. In Cherlapally, projects worth Rs 15.97 crore will include reconstruction and widening of culverts, construction of tertiary stormwater drains, laying of RCC pipelines, CC roads and strengthening of the rainwater drainage network in Cherlapally, Vampuguda and Kapra.

Speaking on the occasion, Sridhar Babu said the State government is committed to providing quality urban infrastructure and efficient civic services. He directed officials to complete all projects within the stipulated timeframe while maintaining high quality standards and transparency.
