The auspicious occasion of Sri Rama Navami, marking the divine appearance of Lord Sri Rama, was celebrated with great devotion and grandeur at Hare Krishna Golden Temple at Banjara Hills in Hyderabad city on Sunday.

As part of the festival, the presiding deities, Sri Radha Govinda, appeared in the divine forms of Sri Sita Ramachandra and were beautifully adorned with new silk garments, fresh vibrant flowers, and exquisite jewellery.

The celebrations commenced in the morning with a traditional Sri Sitarama Kalyanotsavam, performed amidst sacred Vedic hymns and soul-stirring bhajans and kirtans by devotees. This spiritual event was conducted to invoke divine blessings for universal prosperity and well-being.

In the evening, the Maha Pallakki Utsavam was held in a grand manner. The air resonated with ecstatic Harinam Sankirtan and traditional dance performances, as devotees joyfully showered flowers upon Their Lordships during the majestic palanquin procession.

A spiritually uplifting pravachan was delivered by his grace Sri Satya Gaura Chandra Dasa Prabhuji, President of Hare Krishna Movement, Hyderabad. He captivated the audience with profound insights into the divine life and teachings of Lord Sri Rama. His enlightening words emphasized the timeless principles of Dharma, duty and self-discipline, which were exemplified in Lord Rama’s life.

‘The auspicious day of Sri Rama Navami falls on Chaitra Shukla Navami and is celebrated every year with great devotion. Lord Rama's life is the highest expression of Dharma righteousness, duty, and self-mastery. His rule, famously known as 'Rama Rajya,' was an era of perfect governance, free from disease, calamities, and untimely deaths. Even today, if the government upholds Rama’s values and citizens take shelter in the Holy Name of Lord Rama, we can once again experience Rama Rajya,’ said Prabhuji.
