In a significant development for Telangana's infrastructure plans, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy jointly met Union Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw in New Delhi on Monday evening to discuss issues related to Hyderabad Metro Rail project and pending financial support from the Centre.
The meeting focused primarily on the Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC) loan proposed for the Telangana Government, which was reportedly put on hold at the last stage. The delay has affected the State's plans to mobilize funds for acquiring the first phase of the Hyderabad Metro Rail from L&T.
Speaking to media representatives after the meeting, the Chief Minister described the discussions as fruitful and constructive. He said both leaders would meet Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal Khattar on Tuesday to take the matter forward.
