Bringing significant relief to one of the most prominent rural development organisations in the Telugu states, the Rural Development Trust (RDT) has secured renewal of its Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) licence, clearing the way for uninterrupted continuation of its services. The development was confirmed by State Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh, who stated that the renewal removes all hurdles related to the organisation’s ability to receive foreign donations.

Sharing the update on social media, Lokesh said he had earlier assured that RDT’s services would not be disrupted and had taken up the matter with the Union government. He noted that the organisation’s extensive work in areas such as housing for the poor, education for underprivileged children, livelihood support, and healthcare was brought to the attention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

According to the minister, the Centre responded positively to these representations, leading to the completion of the FCRA renewal process.
