Dr Man Singh, Director General (Railway Health Services), Railway Board, New Delhi visited South Central Railway (SCR) Headquarters, Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad on Friday and held a performance review meeting of the medical department with concerned Principal Chief Medical Directors (PCMDs) of Zonal Railways. Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, SCR, Senior Doctors and other Railway officials participated in the meeting.
Dr Man Singh undertook a detailed review on the performance of the medical department of all the railway zones. He reviewed the status of infrastructure development such as equipping the advance medical equipment like CT scan, Cath Labs, advance X-Ray and UltraSound Machines, upgrading of diagnostic equipment, up gradation of wards with latest equipment, up gradation of ICUs, proposals for construction of new buildings for central and divisional hospitals over Indian Railways and engaging additional consultants for all the super specialists to provide advanced medical care to the serving and retired employees and their families.
The DG applauded Arun Kumar for holding the PCMDs review meeting and the upcoming two days conference on Dermatology to be held at Indian Railways Institute of Signal & Telecommunications Engineering (IRISET), Tarnaka, Secunderabad on February 22 and 23.
He said that the Central hospitals over Indian Railways have good infrastructure and have been upgraded with the State of Art diagnostics and treatment facilities. Ten hospitals across the Indian Railways have been earmarked for starting the Post Graduate Institute.
Earlier, while addressing the meeting, GM Arun Kumar Jain expressed his happiness for having interaction with all the PCMDs and listening to their views. Dr Nirmala Rajaram, Principal Chief Medical Director, SCR, welcomed the gathering and briefed on SCR’s medical performance.
