Metro India News | Hyderabad : While the action taken by officials against an unauthorized layout in Gandhanguda has been welcomed, questions are being raised over why similar action has allegedly not been taken against other constructions reportedly being carried out in violation of rules in the same area. Officials of the GHMC Rajendranagar Circle-19 on Thursday took action against an unauthorized layout spread across around four acres in Gandhanguda. An unauthorized building under construction was demolished and roads developed as part of the layout were also damaged.
However, local residents alleged that the action was initiated only after complaints were received. They questioned whether the Town Planning department was conducting regular field inspections to identify unauthorized constructions even in the absence of complaints. They have also raised concerns over transformers being installed on roads and large ramps being constructed from roads to access basements.
There are also allegations that additional floors are being constructed in some apartment buildings even after they have received Occupancy Certificates (OCs). Residents claim that such issues have been brought to the attention of officials but that visible action is yet to be taken. They have sought clarity on whether field inspections are being conducted after OCs are issued and what action has been taken against any violations detected.
