Police nabs habitual property offender, recovers 20 grams of gold chain

The Commissioner's Task Force, South-East Zone Team along with Humayun Nagar Police arrested a 32-year-old habitual property offender, who has committed 11 thefts in Hyderabad city and also executed two long pending NBW’s.   

Arrested habitual property offender identified as Shaik Saddam Hussain alias Saddam, Carpenter, resident of Mallepally. Police have seized 20 grams of gold chain (worth of Rs 1,70,000).

On March 29, police received a complaint from the victim, in which she stated that on March 25, when she was getting in RTC bus at Mehdipatnam bus stop, some unknown persons stole her (Mangala Sutram) gold chain. Police have registered a case and took up the investigation.

The police teams analyzed CCTV footage and worked out for clues technically and identified the accused Shaik Saddam Hussain. On the tip of information apprehended him at Mallepally X roads while trying to dispose of the stolen chain.

During the course of interrogation, the accused confessed that he committed the same offences in the same MO vide above cited reference and recovered the stolen gold chain from his possession.

Police said he is a habitual property offender and usually commits gold chain thefts, pick pocketing by travelling in the RTC buses along with his associates Rajesh and others and since 2010, he has committed about 46 thefts and other property offences.
