Omega hospital launches cancer foundation

On the occasion of  International Women’s Day, Omega Hospitals launched the Omega Cancer Foundation and hosted the Omega Women’s Wellness Summit 2026. The event was attended by Minister for Panchayath Raj, Women & Child Welfare, Government of Telangana, Seethakka who launched the Cancer Foundation.  Appreciating the initiative, she emphasized the importance of strengthening preventive healthcare, early diagnosis, and access to quality cancer care. She also stressed the need to prioritize women’s health and wellbeing. 

 At its Banjara Hills facility, a 230-bed comprehensive cancer hospital, 60 beds—over 25 percent of the total capacity—will be dedicated to the Omega Cancer Foundation. Dr. Mohana Vamsy, Chief Surgical Oncologist & Managing Director, Omega Hospitals, said the hospital’s focus goes beyond treatment to strengthening awareness, early detection, and preventive healthcare, particularly in underserved communities.

On this occasion, eight women were awarded for their contributions to society. The honorees included Kalpana Ramesh, Dr. Shiva Ranjani Santosh, NSK Kumari, Sailaja Kiran, Roopa Maganti, Lakshmi Manchu, Lalitha Raghuram and Sunitha Krishnan.
