First Yadadri Temple Development Board Takes Charge, Ushering New Era for Telangana's Sacred ShrineYadadri, In a significant milestone for one of Telangana’s most revered pilgrimage centers, the newly constituted Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Devasthanam Board formally took charge on Saturday at Yadagirigutta. The event marks the beginning of a structured, professional administration for the ancient temple, now poised for enhanced management, infrastructure growth, and spiritual tourism under the Congress government’s vision.

The board, formed under the Telangana Charitable and Hindu Religious Institutions and Endowments (Amendment) Act, 2025 via G.O.Rt. No.392, was notified on June 30. Industrialist M. Satyanarayana Reddy (MSN Reddy), founder, chairman, and managing director of the MSN Group of companies, assumed the role of Chairman. Prominent members include Chilappagari Vijayarajam, Managing Director of Metro India Newspaper, Konidela Surekha, wife of megastar Chiranjeevi, Congress MLA Vinod Venkataswamy, and other distinguished personalities such as Vijayender Tulla, Pochaboina Eshwaramma Yadav, Gundu Mallaiah, Swathi Kantamani, M. Raghavendar Rao, and Dr. Lakshminarayana Naik. The Founder Trustee and several ex-officio members — including the Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary (Revenue & Endowments), Commissioner of Endowments, district collector, and temple executive officer — complete the 19-member body.

A modest still spiritually charged ceremony unfolded at the temple premises this morning. Board members received the oath of office and secrecy from the executive officer amid the chants of Vedic hymns and the presence of devotees. Chairman Satyanarayana Reddy, a pharmaceutical magnate whose MSN Laboratories has a global footprint, expressed gratitude and commitment.

“This temple is a beacon of faith for millions. We will work with transparency, devotion, and efficiency to elevate its glory while preserving its sanctity,” he said, drawing parallels with successful models like the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). Yadagirigutta, affectionately known as Yadadri, has transformed dramatically over the past decade.

Originally a modest hillock temple dedicated to Lord Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy, it underwent a massive ₹1,800 crore redevelopment under the previous regime  The project, executed through the Yadagirigutta Temple Development Authority (YTDA), involved intricate black stone architecture, gold and silver embellishments, expanded facilities, and better connectivity. The new temple was inaugurated in March 2022, drawing huge crowds and positioning Yadadri as Telangana’s answer to major pilgrimage hubs.

The formation of this Devasthanam Board represents a shift toward dedicated temple governance, separating day-to-day administration from broader development authority functions. Sources indicate the board will focus on daily operations, devotee services, financial transparency, maintenance of rituals, and implementation of welfare schemes for temple staff and the local community.

Recent announcements by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy include foundation stones for ₹99.55 crore worth of development works, signaling continued state support. Devotees welcomed the move. Local priests and the sthanacharya (senior priest) participated actively, emphasizing continuity of ancient practices alongside modern amenities.

The board’s two-year tenure (or until further orders) comes at a pivotal time. Yadagirigutta attracts lakhs of pilgrims annually, especially during Brahmotsavams. Plans include completing gold plating of the Vimana Gopuram, expanding accommodation, improving sanitation, and promoting eco-friendly practices. Integration with the YTDA ensures coordinated infrastructure like roads, parking, and tourism circuits. Political observers view the board as a balanced mix of industrial expertise, political representation, cultural icons, and administrative heft.

As the sun set over the hillock temple today, the new board members offered special prayers, seeking Lord Narasimha’s blessings for their tenure. With Telangana aiming to position Yadadri as a global spiritual destination, today’s takeover signals a renewed commitment to faith, governance, and development. Temple officials urged devotees to continue their visits, noting that core rituals and darshan timings remain unchanged. Further announcements on specific initiatives are expected in the coming weeks.
