Cyberabad Police intensified its crackdown on narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances under the NDPS Act during the first quarter of 2026, registering 91 cases and arresting 209 accused persons between January 1 and March 31.
The large-scale enforcement drive, carried out in coordination with special enforcement teams and Law & Order police, led to the seizure of drugs valued at Rs 2,29,30,330. Officials described the operation as part of an ongoing strategy to dismantle drug trafficking networks and curb substance abuse in the region.
Among the major recoveries, ganja accounted for the highest share, with 333.159 kilograms seized in 62 cases, worth over Rs 1.62 crore. Police also confiscated 105.144 grams of MDMA, 33 LSD papers, 4.311 litres of hashish oil, 32.79 grams of heroin and morphine, and 3,512 grams of opium mixed powder. Smaller seizures included ganja chocolates, ganja plants, and OG Kush.
Cyberabad Police said intelligence-led operations will continue to target both conventional and synthetic drugs. Authorities urged citizens to report credible information and support efforts to eliminate the growing drug menace from society.
