In a unique initiative aimed at motivating students in government schools, Nandigama MLA and Government Whip Tangirala Soumya has turned aspiration into experience by sponsoring an air trip for top-performing Class 10 students.
Under the programme titled ‘Kalalaku Rekkalu’ , six meritorious students from government schools in the Nandigama constituency were selected based on their outstanding performance in the SSC examinations. On Tuesday, Soumya personally accompanied the students on a flight from Gannavaram International Airport to Hyderabad, offering them their first-ever experience of air travel.
The initiative, funded from the MLA’s personal resources, aims to inspire students from modest backgrounds to dream bigger and pursue academic excellence. By exposing them to new experiences beyond their immediate environment, the programme seeks to broaden their horizons and build confidence.
After arriving in Hyderabad, the students were taken on a brief city visit, following which they are scheduled to return to Nandigama by road the same evening. Officials said the experience is designed not merely as a reward, but as a motivational milestone that could shape students’ ambitions.
Parents of the selected students expressed gratitude, stating that the opportunity fulfilled a long-cherished dream for their children. Teachers and local residents have also praised the initiative, noting that such efforts can significantly boost morale among government school students.
