MSME tech connect 2026 begins at IIT Hyderabad

MSME Tech Connect 2026 was inaugurated at IIT Hyderabad, launching a three-day national platform aimed at accelerating technology commercialisation and strengthening India’s MSME ecosystem. Organised by the Technology Transfer Office of IIT Hyderabad under the MSME-SCIP Programme of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India, the event brings together innovators, startups, MSMEs, corporates, investors, research institutions and policymakers to drive industry adoption of research innovations.

The event features technology exhibitions, industry–technology matchmaking sessions, investor pitch forums, licensing clinics and expert panel discussions. Cutting-edge technologies across sectors such as AgriTech, HealthTech, AI, Robotics, CleanTech, Manufacturing, Mobility, Aerospace and Pharmaceuticals are being showcased, enabling MSMEs to explore partnerships, pilot deployments and scaling opportunities.

C.S.S. Rao, IEDS Joint Director & Head of Office, MSME-Development & Facilitation Office, Hyderabad, emphasised the importance of translating research into market-ready solutions that generate employment and strengthen MSMEs. Dr. Louise Boisen, Counsellor – IPR at the Royal Danish Embassy, highlighted the role of strong intellectual property frameworks and global collaboration in innovation ecosystems.

IIT Hyderabad Director Prof. B. S. Murty said the institute promotes innovation beyond laboratories through startup incubation, technology transfer initiatives and entrepreneurship programmes, aligning with the goal of connecting research excellence with industry needs.

The event is expected to catalyse partnerships, licensing agreements and technology deployments, reinforcing collaboration between academia, startups and India’s MSME sector.
