Launch Girls has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society (TGMREIS) to introduce its ‘Girl Boss’ work-readiness programme in minority residential junior colleges for girls across the state.

The pilot, beginning May 2026, will feature a five-day intensive bootcamp aimed at equipping students with practical workplace skills, confidence-building exercises and peer support networks to ease their transition from education to employment.

Minorities Welfare Minister Mohammed Azharuddin said the initiative reinforces the government’s commitment to ensuring girls from minority communities are not only educated but also prepared for meaningful careers. He noted that integrating life skills and employability training into residential colleges would empower young women to pursue dignified livelihoods.

B. Shafiullah, IFS, Secretary of TGMREIS, said the partnership aligns with efforts to foster future-ready skills and an entrepreneurial mindset among students, helping bridge the gender gap in employment.

Averil Spencer, Founder of Launch Girls, said experience across 16 countries shows that education alone does not guarantee jobs for young women from minority backgrounds. She said the programme aims to address this gap by building both skills and confidence.
