Andhra Pradesh Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister P. Narayana conducted a comprehensive review of the ongoing land pooling process in Amaravati, directing officials to accelerate implementation and ensure timely support to farmers.

The high-level meeting was attended by MLAs Shravan Kumar and Bhashyam Praveen, CRDA Commissioner Vijayarama Raju, Additional Commissioners Bhargava Teja and Karthik, along with deputy collectors and MROs.

A key decision taken during the meeting was to begin disbursal of annuity to farmers participating in the land pooling scheme from May 1. The minister emphasised that ensuring financial support to farmers is critical to sustaining confidence in the capital development process.

Officials informed that land pooling is currently underway in seven villages for major infrastructure projects, including the International Sports City, Inner Ring Road, railway line, and railway station. Narayana instructed authorities to expedite land aggregation and remove procedural bottlenecks to keep these strategic projects on schedule.

He also directed officials to fast-track the enjoyment survey process to ensure accurate land records and smooth execution of development plans. Any administrative delays, he warned, would not be tolerated.

In a parallel review, the minister assessed solid waste management initiatives in the capital region. He ordered immediate clearance of legacy waste and stressed the need for rapid establishment of fresh waste processing plants. Highlighting environmental priorities, he said scientific waste management is essential for Amaravati’s vision as a modern, sustainable capital city.

Wherever land constraints are delaying the establishment of waste management facilities, the minister instructed officials to coordinate with district collectors and resolve issues without delay.

Reiterating the government’s commitment, Narayana said Amaravati’s development must proceed on both infrastructure and environmental fronts simultaneously. Speed, transparency, and accountability, he added, will be the guiding principles in executing the state’s flagship capital project.
