Medicover launches campaign to raise breast cancer awareness

To raise awareness about breast cancer, highlight the importance of early detection, and encourage women to prioritize their health, Medicover Hospitals, Secunderabad, organized a special awareness program as part of ‘Pink October – Breast Cancer Awareness Month.’ During the program, women were educated about the signs and symptoms of breast cancer, risk factors, the importance of regular screening, and the need for personalized screening plans based on family history and individual health conditions.

Dr. Nived Rao Balmuri, Senior Consultant Surgical Oncologist and Robotic Surgeon, Medicover Hospitals, Secunderabad advised that women above the age of 40, as well as those with a family history of breast cancer, should undergo appropriate screening tests as advised by their doctors. It is equally important to seek medical attention immediately if any new changes or unusual are noticed in the breasts, he mentioned. 

As part of the Pink October campaign, registered women can avail the following special benefits until October 31, 2026- Free oncologist consultation, breast cancer risk assessment and counseling, free Breast Ultrasound (USG) based on the doctor’s recommendation.
