Magic, music mark Rotary fundraiser

­The Rotary Club of Hyderabad North hosted a vibrant fundraising event, “A Festival of Magic & Music,” at the Engineering Staff College of India Auditorium, Gachibowli, in celebration of International Women’s Day. The auditorium was packed with over 600 guests, making it one of the most lively gatherings in recent years.

The evening featured a spellbinding magic performance by renowned magician Samala Venu, whose illusions enthralled the audience and added a touch of wonder to the program. In line with Women’s Day celebrations, the club honored notable women leaders in Rotary. Jhansi Parmanand received a special citation for her dedicated service, leadership, and commitment to peace and education for over 37 years. Vijay Lakshmi Shekhawat was also recognized for her inclusive leadership and efforts in nurturing multiple Rotary clubs.

The Vocational Excellence Award was presented to celebrated playback singer S. P. Sailaja, acknowledging her contributions as a singer, voice artist, and actress, and her embodiment of the Rotary motto, Service Above Self. The musical segment included performances by S. P. Sailaja, Pardhasaradhi, Mallikarjun, Ramya Behra, and Sai Charan, creating an electrifying atmosphere. Mallikarjun’s energetic singing and dancing had the audience on their feet, celebrating with music and joy.

District Governor Dr. S. V. Raamprasad addressed the gathering, highlighting Rotary’s global humanitarian initiatives and community service, leaving a strong impression on both Rotarians and non-members.

The event’s success reflected the Rotary Club’s commitment to fellowship, service, and community engagement, making it a memorable celebration of women, music, and magic.
