"Machana's" Humanity

Hyderabad: Machana Raghunandan, the Deputy Tahsildar of the Civil Supplies Department's Enforcement Wing, demonstrated a remarkable act of humanity by reuniting an elderly woman—who had lost her way while attempting to travel from a remote village in Nalgonda district to her son's home in the city—with her son. According to the details, on Saturday evening, while returning to the city after completing his official duties, he came across the elderly woman weeping in the L.B. Nagar area.

"What happened, Auntie?" he asked, greeting her. "I need to get to my son's place, dear," she replied. Using a phone number she had with her, he made a call and said, "Your mother is safe. Tell me where I should bring her." "Bring her to Nampally," came the response. Consequently, Raghunandan accompanied her to Nampally and handed her over to her son. When he urged them not to worry, Ramesh—who holds a private-sector job in the city—explained, "Sir, Mother has the money she received from selling paddy with her. I was anxious that someone might try to harm her for the sake of that money."
