In an open letter to the people of Telangana and the cadre of Bharat Rashtra Samithi, BRS Working President K. T. Rama Rao urged party workers not to be distracted by what he described as Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s “abuse trap” ahead of the municipal elections, and instead focus squarely on people’s issues and unfulfilled promises.
KTR alleged that the Congress government, facing public anger over failures in governance and non-implementation of its assurances, was deliberately attempting to derail the political discourse with personal attacks. He said the real debate during municipal polls should be about ward-level infrastructure, roads, drainage, civic amenities, and delivery of welfare schemes—not personal slander.
Recalling the Telangana movement, KTR said K. Chandrashekar Rao was the architect of the state, achieved through years of struggle that shook the powers in Delhi. He described attacks on KCR as an affront not just to an individual but to the history of the Telangana movement itself. KTR asserted that KCR never sought titles or personal glorification, and that the true recognition for him lay in the welfare and progress of Telangana’s people.
KTR called upon party cadres to question the government on farmers waiting in queues for fertilisers, denial of Rythu Bharosa, students dropping out due to non-payment of fee reimbursement, food safety lapses in residential schools, unpaid retirement benefits for senior citizens, and the plight of government employees due to pending DA and PRC. He also demanded accountability on the Singareni coal scam, power sector irregularities, and alleged betrayal of Telangana’s water interests. The people’s verdict, he said, would be the real honour to KCR.
Congress–BJP Failures Exposed
Addressing a municipal election campaign meeting at Vemulawada, KTR launched a sharp attack on both the Congress state government and the BJP-led Centre, stating that neither had delivered anything substantial to Telangana. He accused Congress of coming to power on false promises, including the much-publicised “six guarantees,” and failing to implement even one fully.
KTR reminded voters of written assurances given during elections and warned that voting for Congress again would be seen as public approval of its failures, ensuring continued neglect of welfare commitments such as pensions, Rythu Bharosa, Kalyana Lakshmi, Shaadi Mubarak and gold assistance schemes. He also criticised the BJP for seeking votes on religious and caste lines while denying Telangana its due benefits.
Calling the municipal elections a turning point, KTR appealed to voters to “teach a lesson” to both Congress and BJP, vote for Bharat Rashtra Samithi, and begin the journey to bring KCR back as Chief Minister, asserting that only then would Telangana’s interests and dignity be safeguarded.
