BRS Working President K T Rama Rao launched a sharp attack on Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy over his reported remarks that criticism from the public and opposition gives him “sadistic pleasure.”

Addressing a gathering at Telangana Bhavan during an induction programme of leaders from Kalwakurthy constituency into BRS on Wednesday, KTR described the Chief Minister’s comments as “shameful” and insensitive. He questioned how a leader could derive satisfaction from public criticism when several sections of society are facing hardships.

KTR alleged that during the Congress government’s two and a half years in power, people across sectors have been deceived and subjected to injustice. He cited issues such as the reported deaths of over 140 residential school students, irregular power supply, delays in Rythu Bandhu payments, and the distress of farmers whose paddy is lying exposed on roads due to procurement delays. He questioned whether the government felt any accountability or concern over these issues.

Highlighting the plight of students, KTR accused the government of failing to clear fee reimbursement dues, pushing students into uncertainty. He stated that colleges are withholding certificates due to non-payment of fees, forcing parents to approach courts. Even after judicial directions, he said, the government has not resolved the crisis, jeopardizing students’ futures.

On agriculture, KTR alleged that crop procurement for paddy, maize, bengal gram, and jowar has nearly come to a halt. He accused the government of deliberately delaying procurement operations to avoid paying bonuses, thereby causing distress among farmers. He also claimed that essential inputs like urea are not adequately available.

KTR further criticized the government for not completing pending irrigation projects such as the Palamuru Ranga Reddy project, attributing the delay to political bias since it was initiated during the previous BRS regime. He alleged that despite borrowing large sums, the government has failed to deliver tangible development or welfare outcomes.
