Kishan labels BRS and Cong as 'Thieves'

07-02-2026 12:00:00 AM

As part of the BJP's campaign for the municipal elections, Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy addressed a public meeting in Amangal, Ranga Reddy district, urging party workers to secure all 15 seats. Highlighting past successes, he noted that the BJP won 13 out of 15 seats in the previous polls and emphasized the need to hoist the party's flag high in the region. Reddy praised the BJP's growing strength in Telangana, citing its win of half the parliamentary seats under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.

He lambasted the previous BRS government under KCR for turning Telangana—achieved through struggles and sacrifices—into a "prison," enslaving people to family rule and dictatorial tendencies. Disillusioned voters gave Congress a chance, but the Union Minister accused the Revanth Reddy-led government of following the same path, with no visible change. Labeling both parties as "thieves" and corrupt family dynasties subservient to MIM, he contrasted them with the BJP, which he said stands for Sanatan Dharma, integrity, the nation, and the poor.

Reddy criticized Congress for unfulfilled promises: backstabbing farmers, ignoring scooters for girls, cheating BCs with Rs 1 lakh crore pledges, failing to deliver Rs 12 lakh to Dalit families and Rs 12,000 to farm laborers, and providing jobs to far fewer than the promised 2 lakh unemployed youth. He demanded accountability and urged voters to teach Congress a lesson like BRS. Committing to Amangal's development, Reddy assured resolution of local issues with central support.

On infrastructure, he highlighted the sanction of Rs 1,400 crore for a four-lane highway connecting Amangal, Srisailam and Tirupati, initiated under his efforts. BJP leader Talloji Achari raised concerns over state CM Revanth Reddy's inaction on land acquisition, frequent accidents, and delays. Reddy promised to expedite work immediately.

Union Minister expresses Delight

Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy expressed joy over the Central government's release of funds to bolster gram panchayats and local bodies in Telangana post-elections. He coordinated with the Panchayati Raj Minister to ensure prompt disbursement after polls concluded.

Over the past decade, under PM Narendra Modi's leadership, the Centre has allocated over Rs 11,000 crore. From 2015-16 to 2019-20, Rs 5,060 crore was released; allocations rose 80% to Rs 9,050 crore from 2020-21 to 2025-26, with Rs 6,051 crore disbursed.

Recently, following utilization certificates from the state for 2023-24, the first tranche of Rs 260 crore for 2024-25 was released. Remaining Rs 2,500 crore will follow in phases upon further certifications.
