Residents of Karanbagh Colony, Saidabad, have contributed 32 high-definition CCTV cameras to the Hyderabad City Police under the "Empowering Your Everyday Safety (EYES)" and "Donate a Camera" initiative, strengthening community policing and urban surveillance.

The cameras were handed over by the Karanbagh Colony Association, led by President Myladri Srinivas and Secretary Sudershan Gaddam, in the presence of V.C. Sajjanar, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad.

Speaking at the event, Commissioner Sajjanar highlighted the importance of CCTV cameras as “force multipliers” for law enforcement, stating that a single camera can provide round-the-clock surveillance and unbiased evidence equivalent to the work of many police officers. He urged citizens and corporate organizations to actively participate in Hyderabad’s safety mission by donating cameras under CSR initiatives, stressing that community involvement is crucial for enhancing security and making the city safer.

The event was attended by Khare Kiran Prabhakar, IPS (DCP Charminar Zone), Ch. Rupesh, IPS (DCP SMIT), S. Venkat Reddy (ACP Saidabad), Chandra Mohan (SHO Saidabad), Ramesh (Inspector IT Cell, Hyderabad), and colony association members G. Ravichandra Yadav, N. Venugopal Rao, and S. Tirumurthulu.

The donation reflects a growing trend of citizen-led efforts to support urban safety infrastructure, showcasing how local communities can collaborate with law enforcement to create a more secure environment.
