BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) on Sunday launched a sharp attack on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy over his reported remarks on "blood", accusing the Congress of having an unending thirst for the blood of Telangana and demanding that the government provide water to farmers instead.

Responding through a post on X, KTR said, "If we ask for water, will you sprinkle blood? Bloodthirsty demon... Has your thirst for blood still not been quenched, Revanth Reddy?" He questioned whether draining Telangana's blood for 60 years was not enough and asked, "Hasn't drinking Telangana's blood for 60 years satisfied you?" He further asked, "How much more blood does the wolf-like Congress Party, which has acquired a taste for Telangana's blood, want?"

Launching a blistering attack on the Congress, KTR alleged that its leaders had "shot Telangana's children like birds" and allowed streams of blood to flow in the name of encounters. He accused the party of being "killers" responsible for several incidents in Telangana's history.

Referring to the 1952 firing, he alleged that Congress was responsible for the killing of seven youths and described its leaders as "demons who rejoiced at the sight of blood." Referring to the 1969 Telangana agitation, he alleged that Congress was responsible for the firing that killed 369 Telangana youth, calling them "murderers who spilled the blood of Telangana's beloved children."

He also alleged that the Congress was responsible for the deaths of nearly 1,000 people during the second phase of the Telangana movement. KTR further alleged that the hands of the Congress were stained with the blood of Telangana's children and that the "demonic claws" of the party still bore the bloodstains of Telangana.

Appealing to the Chief Minister, KTR said, "Take as much of our blood as you want, but give water to the farmers." He asserted that BRS leaders had fought relentlessly for the formation of Telangana "until their guts were torn apart" and were ready to shed any amount of blood for the welfare of farmers.

He said BRS leaders were the ones who had fought intense struggles to secure Telangana's share of river waters, adding that they had "created fire in the waters" through their agitations for water rights. Alleging that the "cruel Congress government" was now demanding blood in exchange for water, KTR declared that his party was ready to shed its blood if that was what the government wanted. He urged the Chief Minister to provide irrigation water to farmers and ensure that the state's parched fields receive water.
