Governor Jishnu Dev Varma administered the oath of office to Justice A Rajasheker Reddy, Former Judge of the High Court, as Lokayukta of Telangana, and to B S Jag Jeevan Kumar, former district and sessions Judge, as Upa-Lokayukta of Telangana, at a ceremony held at Raj Bhavan here on Monday.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar, Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy and others were present in the oath-taking ceremony. The State government has recently filled the posts of Chairman, Lokayukta and Upa-Lokayukta of the Telangana Human Rights Commission, which have been vacant for a long time.
Retired High Court Judge A. Rajasekhar Reddy as Telangana Lokayukta, BS Jag Jeevan Kumar as Upa-Lokayukta, Justice Shamim Akhtar has been appointed as the Chairman of the HRC. Similarly, Shivadi Praveena and B. Kishore have been appointed as Members of the HRC. Appointment orders to this effect were issued and the Governor also approved the proposals related to their appointments immediately.
