For over five decades, the Indian Institute of Management and Commerce (IIMC) has stood as a symbol of quality, dedication and discipline in higher education. Established in 1973 by visionary founder and philanthropist Sri Kothuri Seethaiah Gupta, the institution has continuously evolved by providing quality education through effective teaching methods in a friendly and progressive learning environment. 

Guided by the vision of developing students with strong values, adaptability and a holistic outlook, IIMC encourages learners to overcome challenges, embrace change and prepare for a successful future. 

The institution’s growth has been strengthened by the contributions of eminent academicians and administrators. Founder Secretary Sri Challa Somraj Ram dedicated his service to IIMC, followed by Sri Challa Prasanna, Hon. Secretary and Correspondent, who led the institution towards new milestones. Prof. V. Viswanadham, a renowned academician, serves as Chairman of the Governing Board. 

Former principals including Sri K.V. Gopala Swamy, Sri Raghavendra Rao, Sri P. Purnachander Rao, Sri M.K. Subramaniam, Sri V.V. Ramana Murthy and Sri K. Raghu Veer played significant roles in strengthening academics and introducing new programmes. During this journey, courses such as B.Com (Computer), M.Com, B.Sc (M.Sc), B.Com (Computer Applications), BBA and B.Com (Business Analytics) were introduced. IIMC achieved NAAC A+ re-accreditation in March 2023 and received ISO 21001:2018 Educational Management System certification in 2025.

The institution also attained UGC and Osmania University-approved autonomous status for 10 years from 2025-26. With more than one lakh books in its spacious library, modern classrooms, laboratories with 180+ computers, Commerce and Management labs, sports facilities, NCC, NSS units and extensive student welfare initiatives, IIMC continues its journey of nurturing excellence.
