IFHE and Karkinos join hands for cancer screening camp

Bringing preventive healthcare closer to rural communities, the Centre for Women Development (CWD) of the ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education (IFHE), Hyderabad, under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA), in collaboration with Karkinos Healthcare, launched a two-day Community Medical Wellness and Cancer Awareness Drive at Gopularam village on September 26. The program was inaugurated by IFHE Vice Chancellor Prof. A. Vinay Kumar. The medical initiative was led by Dr. Narayana Murthy Poduri, Senior Consultant Radiation Oncologist, Reliance-Karkinos Healthcare and former Director of TATA Cancer Centre, Tirupati.

The camp will continue September 27 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., allowing residents from the surrounding villages to access the services. Organizers said the program is being conducted under a fully funded, zero-cost model for beneficiaries, with the Indian Cancer Society, Bengaluru, as the primary funding partner. Karkinos Healthcare is providing technical and clinical support.  Dr. Poduri said the collaboration seeks to make cancer care more accessible and affordable, with particular attention to women's wellness.
