Lea Seydoux says she has moved on from her role as Bond girl Madeleine Swann and has no opinion on who should play the next 007
Actress Lea Seydoux has moved on from her role as Bond girl Madeleine Swann and does not have an opinion on who should be cast as the new 007 spy. Casting for the new Bond is underway, with several high-profile actors, including Jacob Elordi, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Henry Golding, Paul Mescal, Callum Turner, Jack Lowden, Jack O’Connell and Henry Cavill, in the fray to fill the spot left by Daniel Craig.
Seydoux reflected on her stint as a Bond girl during an interview at the London Film Festival premiere of Gentle Monster on Saturday. Asked about her time in the franchise, Seydoux said, “I really loved being on this franchise, but now it’s ... done.” Asked who should take over the role of 007, Seydoux, 41, said, “I don’t really care, to be honest. That’s not my ... It’s over.”
Seydoux played a psychiatrist and the daughter of Mr White (Jesper Christensen) in Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace. Her romance with Bond began in the 2015 film and continued in No Time to Die. Craig played the character in five films — Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall, Spectre and No Time to Die.
