In a remarkable celebration of music, unity, and social responsibility, Hyderabad hosted “Rhythm – World’s Largest Djembe Drum Circle,” an ambitious Guinness World Record attempt aiming to bring together up to 2,000 drummers performing in unison, creating a powerful symbol of collective harmony and positive social change.
The event organized by The Djembe Circle, under the leadership of its Founder and CEO, Sai Kumar Yeleswarapu, happend at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium, Hyderabad. Designed to transcend cultural, linguistic, and social boundaries, the event aims to demonstrate the transformative power of rhythm while positioning Hyderabad on the global map through an unprecedented musical gathering. The record attempt will be officially adjudicated by Mr. Richard Stenning, Official Adjudicator, Guinness World Records.
The prestigious event graced by distinguished dignitaries, including Jayesh Ranjan, IAS, Special Chief Secretary, Government of Telangana, Mr. Richard Stenning, Official Adjudicator, Guinness World Records, Shri Anup Rubens, Indian Music Director. The event aims to set a new Guinness World Record by attempting to assemble 2,000 participants in a synchronized Djembe drum performance. More than a world record attempt, Rhythm is a movement dedicated to promoting social awareness and inspiring positive change. The initiative proudly supports the “Say No to Drugs” campaign, encouraging young people to embrace healthy lifestyles, creativity, discipline, and community engagement.
The event conducted with the support of the Government of Telangana, reflecting the state’s commitment to youth empowerment, cultural excellence, public well-being, and innovative community-driven initiatives. Speaking ahead of the historic attempt, Sai Kumar Yeleswarapu, Founder & CEO of The Djembe Circle, said:
