Holi festival was celebrated with much fervour and gaiety in Hyderabad. People were seen splashing colour on each other and danced to ‘Holi songs’. Citizens headed to clubs right from morning and indulged in celebrations. The young and old made a bee-line to Begumpet Country Club and People's Plaza on Necklace Road. The youth created a buzz at People's Plaza on Necklace Road. The upbeat DJ songs got everyone moving.
In Begum Bazaar, the youth danced and celebrated the Holi by splashing colours and cheering each other. In every lane, young people were seen dancing to DJ songs and rain dances. In Kukatpally, the Holi festival was celebrated in a grand manner. Both girls and boys had a great time.
At Nampally Exhibition Grounds, the Holi celebrations were on another level. The OU students participated and danced in the festival of colours. Thousands of students participated in the events organized near the Arts College, joyfully splashing colours. They created a lively atmosphere with their dances to the DJ songs.
This time, the police were very alert during the Holi celebrations. The reason for this is that the second Friday of the ongoing holy month of Ramadan also came on the same day. Such a day occurred 35 years ago. During the holy month of Ramadan, the Muslims pray with great reverence.
