Works under the ‘Hyderabad City Innovative and Transformative Infrastructure’ (H-CITI) project have been expedited to address future traffic congestion in the city. As part of the initiative, V. C. Sajjanar, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad, conducted a field inspection of the ongoing steel flyover construction at Mugdha Junction on Banjara Hills Road No. 2 on Friday. He reviewed the progress along with senior police officials, representatives of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), and Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Limited.

The Commissioner said the project aims to create a signal-free road network, particularly around KBR National Park. Over the next two years, seven flyovers and underpasses will be constructed in a phased and coordinated manner by the GHMC, State Government and Police Department to minimise public inconvenience. Foundation work for six pillars from Mugdha Junction towards KBR Park will begin from Friday night.

To reduce daytime traffic disruption, construction will be taken up primarily during night hours. Minor inconvenience is expected only until foundation works are completed, after which normal vehicular movement will resume. Once completed, the project will enable seamless connectivity to the Central, Eastern and Western parts of the city.

Traffic restrictions will be imposed on affected routes, and motorists are advised to plan travel in advance and use public transport wherever possible. Based on initial assessments, route adjustments and updated advisories will be issued. Officials appealed to citizens to cooperate for the city’s long-term development.
