Hyderabad gold-silver theft: 3 UP natives arrested

Hyderabad police have cracked a major interstate theft case, arresting three men from Uttar Pradesh for stealing gold, silver, cash, and a two-wheeler across multiple city areas. Tanzim Zakir Ali (30), Mohd Saddam (32), and Shanawaz Khan (29) targeted homes in Banjara Hills, SR Nagar, Dabeerpura, and Tukaramgate, using iron rods and screwdrivers to break in.

The accused, who came to Hyderabad in early February 2026, stole 160.84 grams of gold, 666 grams of silver, Rs 3.28 lakh in cash, and a Splendor bike, with the total loot valued at over Rs 28.6 lakh. Some of the stolen property was handed to a relative in UP for sale.

Police recovered the items from the accused’s Talabkatta residence following a tip-off on February 18. Cases were registered under multiple police stations. The operation was led by Addl DCP M Iqbal Siddiqui and supervised by Inspector R Venkatesh, DI Sk Kavi Uddin, and SI K Venkataramana, with support from Golconda Zone Task Force and Banjara Hills police.
